The new subscriber may activate the international roaming service by addressing personally to the MTS company shop *.

For subscribers who use MTS services for over six months and pay bills on time the positive balance will be enough to activate this service while addressing to the Customer care centers.

* Subscribers who use MTS services less than six months are not provided with the simultaneous activation of International roaming, International line and Conference call services. Activation of International roaming service to subscribers who use MTS services less than six months is provided with the opportunity of making outgoing calls to any number within Ukraine and to any local numbers of the host country without the possibility of calling to international numbers (except for calls to Ukraine).

Probably in the message settings in a subscriber's telephone it is set:
  • e-mail
  • fax
  • pager

Such situation can take place if the welcome SMS were not deleted from the telephone. It is necessary just to insert the card in any other telephone (but not to Nokia smartphone), to delete all incoming SMS.

  • Check up what channel of transmission is set in the telephone settings. A GSM-channel must be set (not GPRS).

What to do if SMS was not sent but money was taken off?

This situation can take place extremely rarely and can be caused by wrong interaction of the telephone and network at the moment of sending SMS. What happens is a telephone initiates the ordinary process of SMS sending, involving all necessary resources of network (that is why it is charged), but there is an interaction error on the finishing stage. You receive message that your sms is not «sent». In such case it is necessary to apply in a service center. More frequent that can happen with telephones which were unofficially imported on the territory of Ukraine.

If SMS is delivered late?

The situation can take place in case if telephone of subscriber – recipient of a SMS in the moment of SMS sending was during some time turned off or was out of network. If this problem occurs often (more than 1 day) probably a telephone works improperly. We recommend checking up work of telephone in service centre.

If SMS is delivered not in the full size?

In other words part of a message is delivered and instead of the second part the message "not delivered" text comes. It is a problem of telephone of recipient.

If SMS is delivered empty or with «hieroglyphs»?

Either a sender in the settings specified the special format of message (not "text") or he sent logo or melody, which the telephone of recipient does not support.

Is it possible to send MMS GPRS only in the network of roaming partner that support GPRS roaming service? In this case is it necessary to change service settings?

It is not necessary to change the settings. Before going abroad a subscriber have to activate International roaming service and corresponding GPRS MMS service to use it abroad). To use MMS service in roaming, send MMS in the international format +380ÕÕÕÕÕÕÕÕÕ

To what directions can I send ÌÌS GPRS service in roaming?

You can send MMS:
  • From your phone that supports MMS to the phone of subscribers of MTS, MTS Prepaid, numbers of other mobile operators of Ukraine, to the subscribers of MTS-Russia, MTS-Byelorussia, MTS-Uzbekistan;
  • From a phone that supports MMS on e-mail (instead of telephone number enter an e-mail address). An address must not contain more than 21 characters;
  • From a phone that supports MMS to a GSM-telephone (a subscriber gets SMS with a password and login, which need to be entered in a form «My MMS-message» on a web-site).
