How to recover a SIM card

If you want to continue using your phone number it is necessary to recover your SIM card. Upon recovery you are provided with a new SIM card along with maintaining your old number, tariff package, current account balance and list of active services.

For recovery purposes please choose the option which is the most convenient for you:

Submit an application for recovery via MTS Call Center and complete the subscriber identification procedure*
If you are an MTS Prepaid subscriber, leave your application on the web-site.

How to receive a recovered SIM card on hand

You can receive a recovered SIM card:

In MTS branded shops
In MTS dealer shops

SIM card can be handed over only to the phone number owner. If your number is owned by a legal entity then you must produce you passport and a power of attorney in order to receive a SIM card.

*SUBSCRIBER IDENTIFICATION

Subscriber identification is necessary to confirm that you are an actual owner of the SIM card and you are eligible to manage it (to block, to recover).

How MTS Prepaid subscribers can undergo identification

In order to undergo the identification procedure you must give correct answers to one out of three main questions and 2 additional ones from the lists suggested below:

Main questions:

3-5 phone numbers that you have called;
3-5 phone numbers to which you have sent text messages;
GPRS services of data transmission– access point (APN) that you have used.

Additional questions:

The amount of the last account refill or of money transfer to the number;
The date when the last paid or free-of-charge event happened on the number;
The date of the first call;
Current account balance;
PUK1 code (indicated on the start-up package).

How MTS Contract subscribers can undergo identification

In order to undergo the identification procedure you must tell:

For a private individual – passport details of the phone number's owner;
For a legal entity – the company's details, with the following confirmation of the blocking by an application sent by fax.
