The New Format of Dialing the Numbers of Public Switched Telephone Network of Ukraine

Dear subscribers, please be advised that the Order of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Ukraine No.1200 dd. 29 September 2008 (registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine dd. 22 October 2008 No.1014/15705) approved the Plan of Transition to Prospective System of Public Switched Telephone Network of Ukraine.

In accordance with this regulatory act, the transition shall take place on the night of 13th/14th October:

  1. from the national identification codes of own mobile network in the format "0ÕÕ" to the format "ÕÕ";
  2. from Public Switched Telephone Network area codes in the format "0ÕÕ" to the format "ÕÕ";
  3. from the national (international) prefix “8” to the prefix “0” and from the international prefix “810” - to the prefix “00”;
  4. to the new national area code for Kyiv region – 45.
 
The changes correspond to the 2nd stage of introduction of the prospective numbering in the public switched telecommunication network of Ukraine under the National Plan of Numbering in Ukraine approved by the order of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Ukraine No.1105 dd. 23 November 2006 (registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine dd. 07 December 2006 No.1284/13158).
 
The Transition Plan is registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine as a regulatory act and is binding for all telecommunications operators. Evasion of implementation of the transition plan is impossible.

The price of calls will not change and will correspond to your current tariffs.

And from 14 October 2009, the new area code 45 instead of 044 is introduced for Kyiv region subscribers. For example, to call a subscriber from Brovary, Kyiv region, from 14 October 2009 and on you are to dial the following sequence: 0 45 94 (subscriber’s number).

The rules of dialing short 3-digit voice numbers and the rules of dialing short SMS numbers remain the same.

Dialing the numbers in the format 8-800, 8-900 and 8-703 changes for 0-800, 0-900 and 0-703, respectively. The price of calls to these directions remains unchanged.

We recommend you to save Ukrainian subscribers’ numbers in your contacts in the format +380 (network code) or (area code) (telephone number) now so that you do not experience any inconvenience upon the dialing rules change. For example, +380 50 and seven digits of the number or +380 44 and seven digits of the number.
